Michael Wardian

Ultra marathon extraordinaire
Michael is from Arlington, VA, and is a professional marathon and ultra marathon runner, he was a lacrosse player growing up in Oakton, VA and played Division I lacrosse at Michigan State University before picking up running to stay fit and to complete the Boston Marathon once.  Michael quickly realized that he had found his sport.  Since 1996, he has completed and won marathons and ultra marathons on all 7 continents, run for Team USA, qualified for 3 Olympic Trails in the marathon, raced the hardest and longest races in the world and set Guinness World Records.  Michael is known for feats of endurance and in 2022, ran across the United States of America in 61 days, averaging 52 miles a day.  The Alexandria Turkey Trot is a special race to Michael as it is one of the only races where he can races with his vizslas Rosie, Rosie is retired from racing now, and Bash.

When not running, being a dad, doing charity work, coaching, playing chess, pickleballing, cross-fitting, cycling, beekeeping, Michael is a principal at Potomac Maritime, LLC a ship brokerage, dealing in humanitarian food aid shipments.
